ASC was the first Senior Living provider in Indiana to embrace this new technology by offering MyndVR’s VR programming to their residents.
MyndVR’s immersive VR platform was initially implemented to engage seniors in an array of entertainment settings, including learning, travel, art, music, and nature, allowing residents to experience a variety of scenarios, including visiting foreign cities, interacting with animals, joining a Broadway musical on stage, and even sky diving. While virtual reality is certainly entertaining, it has many applications for older adults and can be used to enhance various therapies. Programming has now expanded to include memory care and rehabilitative therapy options.
Most recently, MyndVR announced the official launch of MyndVR 3.0, programming exclusively bundled with the all-new HTC VIVE Flow Immersive Glasses created in collaboration with HTC VIVE, a global leader in VR technology. “We are thrilled to launch the next generation of the MyndVR platform to include the lightest-weight and most visually stunning immersive glasses ever delivered to a variety of senior healthcare settings, including senior living, skilled nursing, veteran homes and hospice. We are so excited to partner with American Senior Communities to bring our newest headsets to their residents. MyndVR has begun distributing their newest, VIVE FLOW virtual reality glasses in American Senior Communities Senior Living communities. The VIVE Flow weighs less than a cup of coffee or about a third of the weight of other popular VR headsets. With an expansive 100-degree field of view and sharp 3.2K resolution, the glasses are capable of dialing up a user’s ocular prescription, eliminating the need for personal eyeglasses while offering crystal clear visuals. The VIVE Flow technology also delivers immersive, 3D spatial audio and can pair with Bluetooth earphones as part of MyndSpatial™ sound-based therapy.
