U.S. News recently conducted their annual assessment of nursing homes across the United States and recognized eight ASC locations in their rankings.
In the USA, approximately 1.2 million individuals (eight percent aged 85+) will reside in a nursing home. Nursing home stays can range from days to years. To address both possibilities, two areas were rated: short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. To be recognized, a home must be “high performing” in one or both areas.
Standards for evaluation include nurse staffing, patient outcomes, measures taken to provide a safe environment, and high-quality healthcare. (The ratings methodology report can be found here.)
In the 2025 rankings, almost 15,000 nursing homes across the USA were evaluated, with only 2,836 (19%) meeting the criteria for recognition in one or both areas.
