American Senior Communities has been honored with 15 Silver – Commitment to Quality Awards by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). These 15 ASC communities throughout the state join the 25 currently active ASC Silver recipients, making ASC the #1 Silver-level senior living provider in Indiana, accounting for 50% of Silver-level recipients in the state.
This prestigious national recognition is awarded to senior living communities that demonstrate an exceptional dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care and strict adherence to industry guidelines.
The National Quality Award Program has three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. At the Silver level, recipients have met the criteria for the Bronze award and are now Silver level, positioned to move on to the final and most prestigious level of the program, the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award. Trained examiners review each application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria.
“The Silver recognition reflects unwavering dedication to performance improvement,” said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair. “You are not only building better systems—you are building a better future for your teams, your residents, and your communities.”
Congratulations to the following communities joining Silver status in 2025:
Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation – Crawfordsville
Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center – Newburgh
East Lake Nursing & Rehab – Elkhart
Hickory Creek at Madison – Madison
Lake Pointe Village – Scottsburg
Rosewalk Village of Lafayette – Lafayette
Summit City Nursing & Rehabilitation – Fort Wayne
Trailpoint Village – South Bend
The Silver – Commitment to Quality Award is the second of three progressive levels within the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. This distinguished program recognizes long-term and post-acute care providers across the nation who are dedicated to continuous improvement and delivering exceptional care.
Each application undergoes a thorough evaluation by trained experts, using criteria from the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, a nationally recognized framework for organizational excellence. Through this process, the program helps providers achieve superior long-term outcomes and continuously elevate the quality of life for those they serve. Data shows, Silver awarded providers outperform the rest of the nation.
Steve Van Camp, CEO of American Senior Communities, shared his gratitude and pride: “Being recognized at the national level is a profound honor. These awards are not just about recognition; they are a testament to our deep-rooted commitment to a culture of quality and to living out our CARE values: Compassion, Accountability, Relationships, and Excellence. I am immensely proud of our teams for their tireless dedication and their ongoing pursuit of excellence in every community we serve.”
The 2025 AHCA/NCAL National Quality Awards will be formally presented during the Elevating Excellence Awards Ceremony at the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo: Delivering Solutions 25, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Tuesday, October 21.
