What is Medicaid Waiver?
The Aged and Disabled (A&D) waiver allows individuals who are aged, blind, or disabled to remain in their home or assisted living community as an alternative to nursing home placement.

Requirements for Indiana State Medicaid Health & Wellness Waiver (ages 59 and under) and Indiana
- Be aged, blind, or otherwise disabled
- Reside in your own home or an assisted living community.
- Meets Medicaid income and resource limits.
- Require a nursing home level of care.
What is Nursing Home Level of Care?
Requires assistance with three or more of the following:
- Medication Management
- Toileting
- Shower Assistance
- Ambulation/Transferring
- Dressing/Undressing
- Personal Hygiene
If I have Medicaid, does that mean I qualify for Waiver services?
No, the Medicaid Waiver program has its own separate application and approval process, which is based on specific eligibility criteria. It’s important to complete the necessary steps and provide any required documentation to be considered for these services.
