Mike Ahern Talks about ASCASC News & Events | September 19, 2014
Mike Ahern is a legendary news anchor from Indianapolis. Now retired, he appeared on the local news from 1967 to 2004, covering thousands of stories and producing dozens of specials. When Mike was faced with needing care for his mother, he chose an assisted living community operated by American Senior Communities.
Mike stated that the moment they walked into Brownsburg Meadows facility, the atmosphere drew them in immediately. It was the warmth of the employees and their approach to the residents that helped ease his mind that he was making the right decision for his mother. He likes that the residents are encouraged to be as independent as they want to be, but yet when and if they’re ready to get involved, the activities and amenities are endless. He also likes how residents are urged to bring items from home to make their new living quarters familiar and truly their own.
Happy with the service she received, he once again looked to American Senior Communities as his mother’s care needs increased. Mike is appreciative of the personal attention she received and recollects the nice friends she made. Mike’s experience is not unlike others facing the same choice; making the decision to move a loved one into an assisted living facility is never an easy decision.
