Newsweek, in partnership with global data firm Statista, has announced the America’s Best Nursing Homes 2026 ranking. The Department of Health and Human Services report more than 15,000 Medicare- or Medicaid-certified nursing homes serve 1.2 million residents in the United States. For families across the country, choosing the right nursing home for a loved one or themselves is an important life decision, and having access to reliable information is paramount.
Thousands of nursing homes are reviewed and ranked based on four pillars: performance data, recommendations by medical professionals, accreditations, and resident satisfaction data for based on National Safey Goals and Google Scores. Of the 1,200 facilities across 33 states recognized for their commitment to quality, safety, and resident well-being, American Senior Communities (ASC) has seven communities making the list.
In the 150+ bed category, an impressive total of five ASC communities occupied five spots among only fourteen These five communities have achieved rankings over multiple years.
- Greenwood Meadows – Greenwood (Ranked #1, 3 years in a row)
- Coventry Meadows – Fort Wayne (Ranked #3)
- Heritage Park – Fort Wayne (Ranked #4)
- Rosegate – Indianapolis (Ranked #7)
- East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation – Elkhart (Ranked #11)
In the 100-149 bed category, these two communities were among only sixteen Indiana nursing homes to make the list and both achieved ranking last year as well:
- Good Samaritan Home & Rehabilitative Center – Oakland City (Ranked #7)
- Clinton Gardens – Clinton (Ranked #9)
